Agentic AI Security: CISO Self-Assessment Framework

A structured way to find out where your agentic AI governance posture actually stands.

Most organizations deploying agentic AI today lack a clear picture of their governance gaps. Not because the risks aren't understood, but because no one has yet asked the right questions systematically.

This self-assessment framework is designed to change that. Developed from TBDCyber's research into enterprise agentic AI identity governance, it gives security leaders a structured set of questions across the six domains where governance gaps are most consequential: identity inventory, authentication and credential architecture, authorization and delegation, forensics and audit readiness, regulatory and insurance exposure, and cross-organizational agent governance.

It is not a compliance checklist. There are no universally correct answers. Its purpose is to surface gaps, prompt internal conversation, and identify where further work is needed before an incident makes the absence of that work consequential.

What's Inside

  • 25 Structured questions across six governance domains

  • Each question is designed to surface a specific deployment-specific governance accountability gap

  • A simple self-scoring approach: addressed / aware and working on it / not yet considered

  • Guidance notes on the highest-priority questions for organizations with active agentic deployments
